Prep 'Get to Know You' Meetings

These enrolment meetings provide an opportunity for parents and future students to meet with school staff so we can learn more about our 2027 Prep students.

  • Meetings will be held from September 1 to September 11
  • Families who live within the school catchment will be sent a link to select a meeting time

Prep Starting Age

In line with Education Queensland policy, children must turn five years of age by 30 June in the year they enrol in Prep.

You can check your child's eligibility using the Queensland Government Prep Ready Reckoner.

Early Entry into Prep

A child who is younger than the prescribed age may commence Prep early if:

  • They turn five years of age by 31 July in the year they propose to attend, and the Principal determines they are ready for Prep
  • They have previously attended school in another state or country, and the Principal determines they are ready for Prep

Parents interested in early entry should contact the school to discuss requirements with a member of the leadership team.

Delayed Entry to Prep

Parents may choose to delay their child's entry to Prep if they feel their child is not yet ready to begin school.

In this case, the child may begin Prep when they reach compulsory school age (6 years and 6 months).

  • No formal documentation, assessment, or approval is required
  • Parents may discuss this decision with the school if they wish, but it is not necessary

Out-of-Catchment Applications (Prep)

Parents wishing to apply from outside the catchment area are required to complete the Enrolment Form and email it to:

📧 outofcatchment@toowongss.eq.edu.au

Applications must be submitted after 12:00pm on Monday 10 August 2026.
Applications received prior to this time will not be considered.

Parents will be notified of the outcome via email in January prior to the commencement of the school year.

Applications will be processed in order of receipt.
