The school plays a major role in the local community. Many members of the community attended Toowong in the past and it still has a special place in their lives. To promote this further we have an informal and friendly Parents and Citizens Committee to encourage community attendance and more involvement in school affairs. This is an integral component of the school decision-making process. As far as practicable, school resources are made available to the community.
Parents are encouraged to borrow from the library and to use the sporting fields and tennis courts. Community organisations access school resources regularly. We love to involve the community in children’s learning. Our school welcomes volunteers, artists in residence and specialist visitors, and incorporates the skills of our parent population.
